Night of Worship

I went to see Francis Chan speak last week.  I wanted to take photos and capture something that I've only experienced so I could remember it.  Again this is a photoblog and as such, it's just supposed to be photos.  But to me photos capture feelings, emotions, who people are.  And if you've ever experienced the complete and udder joy and freedom during worship of a Heavenly father who loves you...that's what I wanted to capture...Photos help me remember things.

So the following photos are to end on a humorous note, and well, i couldn't mixed them with the above photos...that just didn't feel right.

uncomfortable journey into black and white...

I don't know how to do this...so it was good for me.  remember, don't be distracted by the colors, learn to read the light.  At the end of the day, though colors may be dynamic, if you don't have interesting light, the photo falls short.  Obviously, this was a power point day at work...

I don't like the pole in the Dave's Rubicon's picture.  It's light and distracts the eye from the Rubicon.  It looks so sad stuck out there in the rain, but not because it's all wet, but because it doesn't get to play and has to sit at work.  Reminds me of Dave.

i love baby poopie faces!

I'll make her an offer she can't refuse...

Really, if you don't get that camera out of my face!  Why I outta?!?!

Watchu talkin' bout, Willis?

I'm sorry, did I melt your heart with my adorableness?

And little Lukey to round out the cute faces.

Robots Rule

So, I know this is a photo blog.  And I know these are just doodles.  And really I should just give up on my blog because I think I all of 3 people read this and it's only because the are so unbelievably kind and possibly unbelievably bored.  And I know a few of you know I went on a photo binge lately and went photo taking everyday last week during spring break. (yes, I'm one of those -- but before you think I'm some young High School student, I'm actually NOT and I'm going back after years of working for my graduate degree). Well, long story short, after hours of drawing transistors and looking at lattice structures, I felt like actually drawing. I have "misplaced" my sketchbook somewhere for the last 6 months. Anyway, didn't I already say long story short? I took some photos of a series of sketches. It explores the topic of robotic love/emotion. I hope you enjoy these sketches. thx. (See how I threw in the awesome interwebs lingo to give me that connection to the High Schooler Generation?  Aren't you jelly.).

PS. Promise I'll sort photos and post some soon.

Rules..

1. Never be so into "getting the shot," you forget about the people.  aka don't be a jerk or a butt.
2. Never trust auto mode -- but never forget it's a great guide to start with.
3. Don't be afraid to get low or stand on things.
4. Blurry is in the eye of the beholder...blur == bokeh, movement, excitement, creativity.
5. You'll never be sure...just try.

To be continued for later...

PS. I know I'm not a very exciting writer, and I don't actually enjoy it all that much, but words help to capture too.

Flight of the Bumble Bee...

Even the bumble bees are don't dare brave the wind, rain and hail.

Also, as a joke from my coworker, an edit of one of last entries photos.  Made me laugh! =P This is what not being careful while you frame your shots (or not taking the time to crop your photos) will do for you.

these are a few of my favorite things...

I knew this was going to happen...that "my blog" just wouldn't get updated.
Anywho...here's some photos of my favorite thing...the sky.  (the last photo needs a little cropping...some heads are in the way).
